6 pointsWhat was I thinking...when I agreed to remove my new neighbors 100+ year old maple tree. The limbs are over 24" dia. and the stump is over 60" dia. The 20" Stihl and the 22 ton TSC splitter made about 3 cord of firewood from the limbs. This is what I need for the stump.

6 pointsTHE ADVENTURE BEGINS! Today is the big day for us. Caleb, Jim, Dan, and myself have been looking forward to this for weeks. Jim has been to the Big Show in the past but this is a first for the rest of us and we are looking forward to it. We will be camping on the grounds and so we will be getting completely immersed this year in what this show is all about! @Sparky has graciously decided to pick up Coulter Caleb’s birthday present—the new to him 854 (mentioned elsewhere on the forum) and we will be looking forward to checking that out mid day on Friday. My my daughter made Caleb and I some special shirts for the show. Yes, I will likely buy a couple of shirts and hats but nothing I could buy would replace the labor of love by her. the back... And Caleb’s... The front is cool too but I don’t have a pic of that yet. Well done Claudia! So—I need to get through the project this morning and complete it so that I’m ready to roll this afternoon...

5 pointsNot much of a load this year, couple tractors to ride (not for sale) and a set of pre-sold weights. Now why would I load my machines staggered like that ? Any guesses @PeacemakerJack or @Coulter Caleb ?

5 pointsMore "Old School". I'm bringing it to the Show to sell if anyone needs to complete a set. It holds air because it has an inner tube.

4 pointsFor those of us that can't get there for various reasons, will there be a way to enjoy the show? If only from afar. I keep telling myself "next year when things calm down" , but I think I'm going to plan to go next year no matter what. Wife is going to Italy to visit the oldest daughter and grandbaby in December. I think I've earned a trip to Pennsylvania.

4 pointsWhat I’m hoping for is to see a sweet MTD for sale by the roadside on my way to the show...just being prepared

4 pointsThought I was the only one up but I just remembered you guys are an hour ahead of me. Only have one of those signs. I rarely use the heavier .063 blanks of this size. Saw it in the corner of my shop and thought I would rattle Squonks chain. Sure enough he was the first to respond. He requested the WH MAKES IT KOHLER SHAKES IT stickers about 5 years ago. Thanks Squonk. Time to hit the road fellas. Safe travels everyone 🙏

3 pointsFigured I would start a thread for all of us headed to the big show this year. I started to load up the tractors on the trailer. I was just able to squeeze the trailer in the barn so the machines will be out of the weather until we head out. Post up pictures of your rigs as you start to head out to the big show 2018!!

3 pointsSo for tonight's festivities my Honey wire brushed the toolbox area / seat base. Then she primed that and also put a coat on the inside of the hood and a second coat on the trailer hitch. I wire brushed a whole bunch of bolts and then did a wash-out and threw a gasket or two in the carburetor. Here's a pic of the transmission half in its new coat of red.

3 pointsSome days feel like the clock is broken, others go by so fast you find yourself wanting to hit the “pause” button. Today is one of those days filled with excitement for us and it seems time can’t go fast enough. I finished my morning trim project and cleaned up the site by lunch. Got home and decided to cut the lawn so Kelli wouldn’t need to worry about it while I’m gone. We ran the two diesels with Caleb cutting on the Case 224. We had the whole 2 acres cut in about 50 min!!! Now it’s time to clean up and load the truck. Soon we will be headed for Jim’s...
