Hi just joined...(not going to be a very active member) but wanted to say that I bought a new 420LSE in 1986 and I still have it... I used it yesterday it has done 1000 hours and I still love it one of the best purchases I ever made I live in UK just outside London and when my wife and I went to a big flower show at Hampton Court Palace a few years back the bloke on the Toro/Wheelhorse stand saw me looking at their new models he asked if I might be interested in a Toro I said 'no thanks I have an old Wheelhorse' he asked which model I said '420LSE' ah you are Mr H !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my wife and I were both staggered but it sounds like mine was the only one ever sold in UK not easy now to get it serviced as my old Wheelhorse expert in UK seems to have closed his business that's it for now all the best

I buy large electrical cabinets at the scrap yards. I used these steel panels to make several two piece seat pans. Making a pattern from an existing seat. Then lay out the seat on the steel cabinet door.

@ebinmaine you asked for it. Aside from a couple tight turns in the trail that I didn't think about, it went pretty well.

Lane, You must have some sort of tie in with the company if you have 25 dozen Nestle Coffee Creamer Cups caps !!! 25 x 12 = 300 !!! Either that, or you drink enormous amounts of coffee, or are a Nestle Coffee Creamer Cup hoarder !!! Which is it?

A vintage pic of my grandma on her new GT-1142 on its maiden mowing voyage. She always loved to mow and especially loved her wheel horse tractors. I have her Work Horse 700 that she used before they bought this one, but unfortunately i didn't get the 1142. She passed away 2 weeks ago and this thread made me think of her. I blame her for the fact that I have a building full of wheel horses lol. I'd like to find a tractor like this to restore sometime. I spent quite a few hours as a kid mowing her lawn when she would let me.

Get some Nestle Coffee Creamer Cups caps and some of that flat packing foam. Cut off a six inch piece of foam one inch wide and place over hub on tractor or carts. Twist on creamer cup cap and you are all set! Not $10 ! I will be bringing FREE SETS (until I run out of 25 dozen or so) at the Big Show -just stop by my tent !

No wonder when I go on a no AC call, all that's left is the compressor!

It was original. My dad bought it off his neighbor who had it since new. He gave it to me but it was too big for the yard at the time and he jumped on the Wheelhorse bandwagon. So we decided to sell it and get more horses. Looking back I wish I still had it. Would be perfect where we are moving.

probably shouldn't say it but if you have connections to old street and road signs they make great flat panels for projects

I took this video late last summer of Claudia driving Casey and cutting the lawn... It is crazy to think that I was cutting the lawn on that tractor on this same lot about 16-17 years ago and now my second born is doing! Testament of well built machines and a willingness to take care of them!

If you know someone in the heat and air conditioning business the flat side panels from large commercial AC units that you would see on the roof of stores are a good source. They tend to be thicker and easy to come by when a unit is replaced.

Hello all, I got the K341 all wired up and she is charging and working as it should. Now i just need to fix the leaking carb and get the correct size belt to make my horse run and work!!! Almost there. I ordered one belt that ended up being to small so another one is on the way. Still need to order the carb rebuild kit. I will be doing that soon. Thanks to everyone for the help with the wiring.

Painting parts for the 654, first time starting the 401 and 1276 this year! Now just need figure out why the 400's K91 engine won't fire. Started when bought it last year and never again. Won't even cough on starter fluid.
  32. 2 points
The engine is in remarkable condition. Cylinders within spec. Will put a set of rings in just because it’s down this far and a valve job.

It is correct that the friction ring or friction material for the clutch isn't sold separately. ...unfortunately. At the end I sent the clutch to a specialist to vulcanize a new friction ring on to the clutch. The result is good. I paid 80 euros (that's at this moment $94). Not cheap but cheaper then a new clutch. Here below are two pictures. My Wheel Horse is working again!

If that was a genuine demonstrator as it appears to be, that would be worth quite a bit of coin in the Case GT community. I don’t remember ever talking to you about that tractor Richie but I’d be interested in hearing about it for sure. My cousin Mike picked this one up last fall. It has most of the original parts and will likely get a full resto in the next couple of years...

I have an early case 220 that was my wife's grandfathers. a very tough and reliable machine. by far this is the best tractor I ever used for snow removal with the snowcaster, unfortunately it sat for few years neglected outside. I was able to get the tractor(which started right up), the snowcaster was a total loss, the mower deck I have will need to be rebuilt and I have snow plow. someday it will get a full restoration.

On the contrary—those are sharp machines and by the looks of the mowers, you use them! I grew up farming with Case tractors and so I appreciate the old letter series machines on up through the 90 series nearing the end of the Case run. Lots of seat time! if you care to, tell us a little more about your two Case tractors here...

The wire harness can be pulled out completely then laid out on a bench and gone through. I have done this with all 4 of mine. I also simplified and removed any extra wiring at that time. I have not had any electrical issues since.

Hi to one and all. Just signed on here at 1:20 AM. I know but back was hurting and could not sleep. To much yard work I guess. Any who I got me a horse today. Its a C101 with a mow deck. When I get it home Saturday Ill know more about it. Here is the deal, I will intro myself and post photos along with the story of how I found this diamond and for a week and a half could not get it off my mind but for now I have a question because I need to put this thing to work. What type for sleeve hitch or clevis hitch does the C101 take are they still made by anyone? If not are there some good photos on line that I could use to make one? I have the equipment and skills to do this. All for now I am sure there will be more and thanks in advance. Doug

@Skipper Tom, you were one of the guys that came into Red Square that Racin'Bob and I took a chance on. We were not wrong in taking that chance...Thank You for that. It was a pleasure seeing and meeting your family. I hope we get to do that again if you come over for a 2nd load of horses. We need to spend more time if the opportunity presents itself. We should do at least dinner. Turning you on to members in this community was my pleasure. I know how hard it was to line things up and make dates. You had some good guys like Tom from Janesville that stepped up and helped. Can I mention Smokin'Joe?? Excellent people. And my Dad is looking down seeing one of his Wheel Horses in the Netherlands...how cool is that. Thanks Tom !!

Hi Steve. I too oue you a big thanks, and then some. About a year ago I was absolutely green in this hobby, and came to this forum with big plans and ideas. You were the one who found it in your big heart to let me inn, help me out, and get me connected and set up big time. You kind of eased me into the flock, and without your help and wealth of information, I highly doubt any of it would have ended with a success. So, what am I trying to say here........ Well. just that it takes a big guy, heart and mind to do and be, what you do and are. It's obvious you have tons of friends in the US. Just want you to know you also have some on the other side of the pond too Thanks Buddy
  48. 2 points
for sure! And I'm sure you just made a whole bunch of new friends who never realized one of those made it to the UK at all! Perhaps you might find a new servicing dealer in this old post.
