5 pointsI have a few extras kicking around that need to go to a new home, everything is priced to go, not making a killing on anything! 1969 Charger 12 Automatic with nice 48" SD Deck and hydraulic lift. This was purchased last week as a non-running parts tractor. Once I got it running and found out how well it runs and how strong the Sundstrtand automatic is I couldn't bring myself to part it out. It isn't pretty and the deck has a small weld repair but they are solid and work great. The 12 HP Kohler has no smoke at all and starts and runs great. Rear tires are Carlisle and don't show any signs of age cracking, fronts are original style tires and do have some cracks but all tires hold air just fine. The battery is good and strong. SOLD I am picking up a 953 from member Mike's Horse Barn and have no need for the 48" deck that comes with it. One of the blade spindles has a bit of play and I will include a good spindle as well as a new set of blades. $ 75.00 for all. I will be picking up a '68 Commando roller and am only buying it for the transmission, rear tires and seat. Anyone who wants any or all of what is lift can have it for free if you are willing to remove it. First come first served, PM me with your wants. @rjg854 has dibs on these; seat pan and steering wheel and front wheels, everything on the Commando is spoken for.

4 pointsI worked on my B80 deck. New double pulley, idler pully, blades, drive belt pto to deck belt and deck belt. I found everything here in michigan within 35 miles of my house. The blades and the double pulley were the hardest to find. I did replace the 3 spindles last year. Only the 2 outer pulleys I didn't have to replace everything else is new. I have to give the B80 to my son so he won't ask to use my new rider so I made sure the decks in good shape. After sitting all winter with the charger on it 2 turns on the key and it started up. Love that little engine.

3 pointsSunday 6th of May saw the 35th Heathersgill Vintage Rally. Held at Carlisle Airport, Cumbria. A sunny and hot day for a change, saw an entry of 500 exhibits, trade stand and craft stalls. I took my '79 C-81 with finger bar. (Sickle bar to the US.) '78 C-121 (The Black Horse) Modified for ploughing and my '78 Sears/Roper GT16 with B&S twin. Due to being an official, car steward, general dogs body and fount of all knowledge, (so some thought), I didn't manage to get as many photo's as I would have liked. What I did get are as follows. First some of the things for sale in the auction. Restoration project anyone? It's a David Brown. Or was. Couple of hand implements for when men were men and sheep trembled. Shopping transport for SWMBO. SWMBO on the left and friend with stall of her hand painted pots, mugs decorated with her own art work and cake stands she made from old records. Some old cars. Ford Model T. Imported from Kansas. Complete with bullet holes in the doors. Customised Reliant Robin three wheeler. Citroen 2CV and Renault Dolphin. Honda CX500 Tidy, unrestored BSA and Watsonia sidecar. Norton Trials bike. Ex British army Bedford with low loader. Horticultural exhibits. P1020189.JPG

3 pointsAin't that how it goes all too often Richard ...ya pick up what appears to be a parts tractor and with very little tinkering motor runs strong! Despite the black that looks like a nice survivor.

3 pointsI'd like the seat pan and steering wheel and front wheels for one of my Commandos.
-
3 pointsThanks, Lane! Not sure who’s having more fun, the boys or the old man. 😅

3 pointsDenny: You are getting the best day with your Wheel Horse award today !
-
3 pointsI’m still waiting for some help for that special picture I promised ! Can’t seem to find any good help these days !
-
3 pointsThanks for the excellent pictures. I had a 1957 Renault Dolphin and without a doubt it was one of the worst cars I ever owned. The Allen Oxford saw looked quite dangerous. Loved the old cars , it is amazing to see old vehicles in great shape. Loved the cross cut saw , my father had one , had 2 handles and no petrol motor and was not a favorite item to use . I forgot to mention the Robin . After the tall chap on Top Gear tried driving one I knew I did not want any part of the that car.

3 pointsSorry to hear that about your friend but it’s probably a relief and gives him peace of mind knowing where they’re going. He knows you’ll do right by him whatever you do . I hope I can do the same when it comes time to pass the torch. Now it’s time to do your part and you have a lot of homework to do..... ! These teaser shots are great but we need lots of to feed our addiction . The anticipation is killing us .......... ! Can’t wait to see Emory pushing that mower.

3 pointsHere’s what’s kept me busy and is an ongoing project , as I am having to find some brass lamps to match the ones I have as some of the lamps don’t have any glass in them . I have spent the last weekend making the rear box to cover the engine , lined the cab area with oak , some way to go yet but she’s getting there

3 pointsa simple easy fix may be to cut the steering shaft center the fan gear center the steering wheel and use a clamp type of coupler to fasten them together then adjust the tierods
-
3 pointsBunch of chores today but enddd by moving firewood and some dirt with Thumper.
-
2 pointsOn my way home from picking up 4 tractors and lots of parts. Some will be for sale in PA at the show, just not sure what yet. Two tractors definitely stay with Emory and I.
-
2 pointsHere are a few shots of the things I had on the trailer. One thing I'm not sure about is the sweeper. I know it's incomplete, but the model says R32. Sounds like a wheel horse number, but it's not labeled wheel horse. Any ideas?

2 pointsJust picked up a 2002 520xi w/ 52 in deck and 198.7 hours on the clock. Came with a snow blower. Blower has set outside and is faded and ugly but is all there. Original owner passed away and his heirs didn’t want this so they sold it to a Deere dealership about 1 hr 45 mins from me. Needed blades and still needs cleaned up. I have a 72 inch ztr but have been looking for one of the 5xi series for a little bit. Wanted one when they came out but couldn’t afford one. Was mowing 2.5 acres with a 1974 C160 that was bought new by my dad. Story for a different time. Snow blower will be for sale or trade (almost prefer trade)

2 pointsHow about blowing a small fan onto a small oil cooler? Maybe make one out of a small heater core? Just a little radiator with a fan blowing air through it. not sure if natural convection is enough to force it to move the viscosity of oil or not but it does thin out quite a bit when hot and gets pretty hot, so it may. Is there oil plugs on both sides of the engine? Just

2 pointsYou will have to get the spec number off your engine and find the part number for the camshaft. Cross-reference that number and see if it is the same as a camshaft from an engine that uses a mechanical pump.
-
2 points108501 is for a hydro not an 8 speed 7473 is for 8 spd according to parts manual Personal preference but for gear trannies I use Toro Belts. seem to engage more smoothly....
-
2 pointsDon't get a new one just rebuild the old one. http://www.then-now-auto.com/product-category/fuel-pump-kits/kohler-fuel-pump-kits/

2 pointsNow it’s time to do your part and you have a lot of homework to do..... You're not kidding Jeff. Going to start unloading tonight. It will take a few nights to just slowly unload and see what all I really have.

2 pointsThat seems to be the key. Your airflow bath needs to be open, adding another fan wouldn't do any good if the path isn't open.
-
2 pointsThe surest way to know is to go to our "Manuals Section" and do some old fashioned research. The parts that were carried over from year to year will have the same part number.
-
2 pointsCan't compare them like that. They are all the same save for bells and whistles. The 76 and 77 B series was the same as a C series frame and transmission wise. Same goes for the 300 series vs 400 series but with a few exceptions. Again, bells and whistles and the tire size by a fuzz. Forget the B series starting in 1978 though. They became nothing more than a lawn tractor then.

2 pointsHate to be Debbie downer here Country but why? I have the same '92 vintage 246 and mow with it on the hottest days of summer and never have problem with overheating. I do keep the fins and fan clean tho.
-
2 pointsI'm thrilled with my haul, but sad at the same time. A very good friend has decided it was time to let his wheel horse collection go and move on to other things. I'm just extremely fortunate that he thought of Emory and myself when he decided to sell. Thing is I met him through horses and now I have an excellent friend from now on - horses or not. Funny thing how this hobby pulls folks together! Even though he lives about 5 1/2 hours away, he grew up only a little over an hour down the road. Funny how things happen!
-
2 pointsNow, if the grass is kinda high and really wet, does it have enough power to mow it cleanly? or do you need to make two passes? Very cool!
-
2 pointsThank you everyone for the attention of my birthday. The day was celebrated on the balcony in the glorious sun with coffee and cakes with friends and family.. Lars!

2 pointsSomeone else had this issue not too long ago. I could see it if it was the other way around. You want a tight left turn for trimming with a SD deck and for quick times at Martinsville.
-
2 pointsSorry Richard, he is talking the 5/8 one that sits inside the input shaft and the spline shaft fits inside of that.. I got a few of those out Mark. Get the needles out 1st, then take a good, small and sharp screw driver...find the thin side and tap the screwdriver down in there. Work it around, the metal is so thin and hard it rips easily and you can pull the rest with a needle nose pliers. Great pictures of nasty bearings.

2 pointsHere's some pics of a small part of the project we're doing in front of the shed. We were scraping gravel today and found that the conduit for power was only 4 to 6 in underground and rising over the years. We dug a ditch about 2 ft deep and will be sinking it. We will be removing about 2 feet of depth of soil in front of the shed and making a ramp that will go out to the forest and across the other way to the back of the house. All covered with stones.
-
1 pointLots of power steering units have small coolers, probably cheap at the scrap yards.
-
1 pointOn my 414-8, which is probably similar to yours, after spending 15-20 minutes looking at that horrible mess with the nightmare of safety switches, etc I quickly decided to rip it all out and just go back with the basics - to start, run and stop! Though I did wire in the headlights.... From that point on things went real smooooth!
-
1 pointThat is a rather crude weld on the fan gear, I wonder if it left the factory that way.
-
1 pointThe two generator terminals should be stamped one A and one F. You are reading voltage on the field terminal I would guess from the picture. You want to measure from the A (should be the one with heavy wire on it). Genny will produce nothing with out the regulator. For a test right now temporarily ground the F terminal while running. Voltage on the A Terminal should be about 14
