9 pointsIf there is any grade involve I wouldn't do it...The 314 may pull it but if it get moving on a downgrade you will not stop it.

7 pointsNo need to rush @19richie66 you have plenty of time and I just sent of the first 18 cards for production. Anxious to see how they look. I get a break when ordering 10 sets or more In fact I like the ones I made for myself so well that I am thinking about trying to find a good image of every model made through 1997 and compiling a collectors edition of Wheel Horse cards
-
7 pointsTwo words. Don't. doitt. You have one little tiny brake drum that is not designed to slow down anywhere near that much weight. I've been a commercial driver trainer and a boom operator and a forklift trainer and a safety officer. What I always tell people is - if you have to think about it at all... You already thought about it too long. You may very well be able to pull that thing anywhere you want to but you also may very well not be able to stop that thing anywhere you want to.
-
6 pointsDon't even consider hooking a 4500lb trailer to a 500lb tractor. Put a front hitch on your truck and push it in place.
-
6 pointsThat was just a trick to get @19richie66 to sigh up. You can make him #13 when he does.
-
5 pointsIs this the sort of thing you are talking about??? You wanted a front hitch, I believe a rule of thumb is tongue loading is about 10 % of total weight. That would be a lot on the front wheels and spindles..(300 series spindle are more prone to bending. Next that much down pressure in front of the front axle will seriously lighten your rear end depriving you of traction.....

5 pointsGreat job Dennis. Tractor looks great!!! You deserve every one of them Terry. Your work is second to none.
-
5 pointsArent Terrys decals the bestest!! You can paint, shine, clean, etc, etc and it still wont POP until you get those decals!! And speaking of a 414-8 ---- I just finished one myself and of course it got decals to finish it off....

4 pointsThis will take a long time to do but what the heck. I am going to design a set of collector cards with a card for every model made from 1955 through 1997 The problem is I need to find good quality images of each. I realize that this may be impossible but once completed I will be glad I did it. The 1974 thru 76 Alphabets were the same as far as I know so will only make one card for each and label them 74 through 76 saving several cards there. Probably wont do the electric"s and reo's but could always add them later. Please feel free to give your feedback on the design and info that would be useful on the cards. If I use a picture of a members tractor I I will ad a credit to the image if they desire. Maybe I will produce them like the old baseball packs with five random cards per pack. No bubble gum though. Let me know what you think good or bad. This is a very early image to get started. Need to write some history on the lower area for this one.

4 pointsYou're not dumb, we've all been in the same boat at one time or another. That's why we're all here to lend our knowledge to each other to save a few headaches and gain information. This be THE place to get the answers we seek.
-
4 pointsMany of us would but it may take me a couple winters of research to get all the info and pictures together plus getting the artwork done. Make that 3 winters
-
4 pointsI'll second that. My father drove tractor trailer for 30 years or more ... had the darndest time getting a 9-foot pop up behind a Buick LeSabre to stay anywhere near where he wanted it to go.
-
4 pointsOne advantage of that thing is the distance of those trailer tires from the hitch. (At least on the one pictured). Short trailers are tougher to back up because they react so much quicker to even slighter movement. Try backing up one of those tow behind compressors into a tight space with minimal sight view like in a van. I must've jackknifed one a dozen times before getting used to it but I could put the boat trailer anywhere in a single shot.

4 pointsReplace the regulator for sure. They are less than 20 bucks and WILL fail. Most often will overcharge and cook a battery. Check the voltage to the regulator with the motor running at the two outside terminals. Should read 30-40 volts WOT and you will be reading AC voltage. Center term to ground you should read 13-14.5 volts DC at WOT. Corrosion on the terminals usually means a acid leak at the battery post. Very common with cheaper batteries.

4 pointsA few years back I used one similar to the one Paul has pictured. It was attached to the hitch on the truck and all four outriggers down and you could see the rear of the truck moving as I changed positions with the lift. Like Eric said, don't even think about it. You may want to rent some scaffolding if you won't be able to move the lift safely.

4 pointsI have a few craftsman boxes and a mac tools side cabinet and a old MEC slide door machinist box. I have a lot of craftsman tools, and some snap on and mac tools from my diesel mechanic days. Then I got a lot of older tools from my grandad and those are a whole range of different makes. But they all work regardless of the make and that's what counts.

4 pointsLove seeing these pics. Does my heart good. Thanks for the kind words friends
-
4 pointsThat would make sense. At least they didn't stamp "This End Up" on top the piston.
-
4 pointsI used the tires below and went with the 18x8.50’s. You can steer this thing with your pinky with no load. I’m still working on my loader.
-
4 pointsMy guess would be a shop rebuilt it at one time and identified the parts this way prior to cleaning and inspection.

3 pointsI don't even know if I would try that with my Mahindra eMax, but I did move a late 60s 14' Winnebago with the Kioti nearly a mile and they aren't that light and bit top heavy but the Kioti has way better brakes than a ...

3 pointsWill look like my picture...usually I just cut it out and reterminal with "bullet" style terminals with bit of dielectric grease when snapping together, Jeff.
-
3 pointsMany years ago back in the Dark Ages I had a 23 ft trailer that I had to back down an alley and then turn into my yard. Biggest PITA I ever had , mounted a hitch off set on the front of the van parked the trailer without any problems . Sometimes when traveling , had problems getting into spaces. Unhook the trailer , hook to front hitch problem solved .
-
3 pointsIll take 13 @wallfish Still trying to get a picture but skittles is half together. By this weekend, fingers crossed.
-
3 pointsOver charge on the battery will also cause leakage by the terminals. With the engine running wide open you do not want to see more than14.5 to 15 volts DC, any thing over that will damage the battery.
-
3 pointsI have 21 confirmed Cards. The card numbers have changed just a bit but don't worry @wallfish your still lucky number 13
-
3 pointsIt will pull 4500lb, but like like the guys say any incline, downgrade, grass, your just going to loss traction. Also I have one of the front hitches on ebay, guy says it will hold 300#, I'm not sure if I would put any more than 300# on mine, I'm thinking a 4500# piece of equipments tongue weight is way more than 300#s, don't think I would do it .
-
3 pointsOuch! Well all I can say is you are lucky to be in Texas. Those plates and screws are a royal pain in the wherever in cold weather. Glad you are feeling better. Didn't we discuss having Karl create a special badge for we titanium bearers?

From there select pictures and then the photo you wish to attach, click on it and click on the "Open" tab and it will be added to the bottom of your post. If it is the picture you were looking for just click on the "+" and it will become a part of your post.

3 pointsWhen in Chambersburg we usually go to Bonanza across from Lowe's or Chinese in front of Wal-Mart. Both places buffet.. They lose money on me...
-
2 pointsThis is just one place to order from but my advice is to get them in bulk, like 10 at a time. It makes them cheaper even though they're not that expensive to begin with but you won't be shy about changing them more often when you have'm in stock. IMO, Stuff like that tends to go on the back burner if they have to be ordered every time. http://www.psep.biz/store/small_engine_fuel_filters.htm

2 pointsAll my belts, Huskee Kevlar from TSC. Green belts are oil and grease resistant. Never had one fail. Label the belt sleeves and staple gun to the garage wall. 70+ years old, I forget.
-
2 pointsHope your shoulder heals up rapidly. That looks like a great location, it can be seen so you know if it needs to be changed. I have always used the inexpensive clear plastic fuel filters and never had a problem.
-
2 pointsReally good idea Richie .... your not as dumb as you look and I don't care what the other fellas are saying about you You should summit that pic to the manufacturer. I fixed up a battery tray today. I may do a resto thread on fixing these things up. Pretty easy & even @19richie66 can do it ....oh my double slam in the same post!

2 points@Sparky yes, definitely will be installing some motion triggered lights. @Tractor boy While Im laid up, I really need the carb job/tune-up finished on my C-160. My right foot may be injuries, but with the C-160,s large Motion Control lever on the right side of the console I could be mobile again. I could drive my WH all around the neighbor hood and practice being retired around here

2 pointsMaybe we could all find a great big buffet place that has EMTs on staff. Over eat , EMT treats the problem , back to the food.
