That's what I did to mine. I started with a taper tap (left) and followed up with a bottom tap (right) which may not have been needed. I did it for my Suburban and just ran the correct length 1/2" nipple to a 1/2"x3/4" 90° fitting to turn the pipe forward. Worked great. Make sure you control the shavings. I stuffed an oily rag in the hole first.

Thank you all for indulging me and taking part in my journey. I really appreciate all the thoughts and well wishes—YOU GUYS ARE GREAT! I made it home about 25 min ago without incident. Overall I put on about 960 miles! Looks good to to have the Super C in my shop though... Looking forward to playing with it when I have some time...

Three men are peeing in a puddle and your job is to figure out which one is a Diesel mechanic. It's the guy who leaves a rainbow color sheen on the water..................... i hear when Fred goes out on a date, if the woman wants him to take her home, she tries to lure him in by putting a dab of #2 behind her ear. Ok, you guys we are talking about #2 Diesel fuel for sure, but in Fred's case maybe either kind would work after enough chimichongas... But in all seriousness, i really like Fred. He is good people. He better show up at the Big Show this year or it will be "Fred on a stick".

Chris, I believe that a 1/2" NPT pipe tap will work on those with out machining the exhaust hole larger. Then you can use a 1/2 to 3/4 bell fitting to go to 3/4" pipe. The smaller 1/2" pipe at the start will not effect the performance of the engine.

Guten Tag Dirk and to the All good advice above. One other possibility is the lever on the left side of the clutch cross shaft. It is fastened to the cross shaft with a 1/8" roll pin that may have sheared allowing it to slip on the shaft. To be able to check it, you must remove the left side panel. Then scribe a line across the end of the shaft and the lever. Then operate the clutch pedal and note if the lines move.

I've been waiting for this. Finally we got the first snowfall since we've been back home again. My trusty old 'B'-160 was getting impatient sitting in the garage. We got 4-5" off the lake and it was play time.

Excellent guys. I figured I would have to go 1/2 to 3/4 probably should have mentioned that. But anyways thanks you guys and I will let ya know how I make out.

The unfortunate problem with today's trucks it's power vs parts - something has to give . Just because it will run 80mph uphill doesn't necessarily mean you should do it , unless you like getting yelled at . There are also a ton of new issues cropping up with the electronic systems and especially the newer engines designed to run with them to meet emissions - they really are releasing stuff without much real world testing - it seems to go in cycles . A lot of the relationship between drivers and techs is whether or not the driver is willing to listen - there are things with working on a big rig that will drive most people to suicide , someone that abuses those parts is risking a wrench to the head for the resulting aggravation . Not to mention , just because it's big and wide open doesn't mean getting to various parts is easy - just look in any mechanic's tool box at all the modified and very expensive tools ... A good 90% of the rig drivers I encounter on the highways are quite respectful to us working on the roads . I see so much truly bone-headed behavior from the general Public in relation to those trucks it's amazing - cutting off or in front of something that weighs 40+ tons is really stupid . People have little respect for how hard that job is for those drivers , if they acted accordingly it would sure help . Sarge

We even got some snow here in the mountains of North Carolina, but it isn't sticking to the driveway so for me that is perfict! Thought I better get a picture before it melts.

Depending on what year your tractor is you likely have some sort of damper on the idler arm. It could be a strut that pushes it to engage and doesn't utilize a spring or a damper with the spring that slows the engagement. Aside from being annoying these things can cause issues. You can remove them and just use the spring like they've done for decades. If you have the strut that pushes the arm you can remove that and install a spring on the left side.

I did receive the shipment from Mckenzie today. So I have all I need to mount the deer. I'll mount the antlers and eyes in the form, but probably won't add the cape till Jan. I did make a few creatures from the feet.....yes, I use it all. The tail hair will be used to tie flounder flies. Anyone ever seen a striped deer foot? This is the first one I have ever seen and I have processed well over 100 deer. I googled striped deer foot and was surprised to find some info.

Here it is... came from fellow forum member Elliot Ness. Many thanks to him for his patience and hanging on to it for four months till I could carve out the time to make it down. As with any old tractor, there are some details to attend to but it seems to run good and strong. Can’t wait to give it a personal once over in the upcoming months...

Thanks to all fellow rd members these tractors are fun to look at fun to work on and more fun to drive

A loader is on my wish list I am not sure what the weights came off of but for $25 I was willing to take a chance that they would fit. I had to drill some holes in the wheels but it was well worth it. They weigh 65 pounds each. Here is my little homemade digger ... a loader would make moving dirt a lot easier, but it is one of those things I can't see me buying unless I found a great deal...I am very cheap Looks like it is time to get the band saw and welder out tomorrow and see if I will be able to mock something up. Thanks for all the help, Scott

Thanks for the picture of how it should be mounted to the original plow..that will help a lot. Now all I need is a picture on the other side. True the mounts are sad but that can be fixed. When buying non working things you see a lot of screwed up stuff but that is more then half the fun Motorcycles, Pinball machines, Tractors...there are a LOT of POs that should never put a wrench to anything. Like I said I will cut those mounts off and weld some better ones on at the bottom of the plow. I am sure I will have to make a custom lift bar as well to fit this Frankenstein-Plow...but once again...half the fun is getting it to work. I have another tractor to plow with until this one is ready. I only had to plow once here last year...kind of sad. Thanks again for the picture. Scott

I thought they quit making those years ago. Think it had to do with global warming or something.

If you can post the tractor model number and serial number off the data decal on the rear fender pan it would help. There was a dampener installed on some models to prevent the pedal/clutch from engaging too fast. The dampener design was changed a few times so the tractor numbers should identify which dampener you have if you have one at all. They are treated differently depending on which one you have. The dampener can fail and not allow the belt tension to be fully applied. Garry

Josh, I'm glad you made it home safe, and without being hung as a horse thief.
  22. 3 points
The clutch on your tractor is a pulley with spring tension against the belt . When you step on the clutch it pulls the pulley away from the belt. Check your drive belt for wear, check your tension spring, and also check you engine and transmission pulley set screws & keys. My first guess though would be that your drive belt is wore / stretched and needs replacing.

You can keep that white crap.I'm prepared for it,but I'd be just as happy if we got none.

Me too Bob. Black ice. The first drizzle after a week or two of no rain raises the dripped oil on the roads to the surface. Bumper car action at heavily traveled intersections every time. If you get to missing Deltona, (80 degrees for the high today), I can send you the local crime reports. I think you made the right decision. Happy belated birthday!

I have not seen a horse painted that shade and I have to say it looks really nice. The boy is gonna love it!!!

Mine is roughly 36 7/8" long end to end but I made up my own handle assembly. I also made the rod adjustable with a connector in the middle.

Not much to report lately. Got the dash tower assembled, dash panel painted, and gas tank installed. Did get a chance to visit with@oldredrider last Friday. Traded a couple of motors and got a mule drive for coyote. Also tracked down a set of weights for coyote with Paul's help. I also ordered a gas valve and seal for the poly tank. Hopefully I'll get to work again Sat. We've got our tractor association's Christmas dinner tomorrow night. Usually around a hundred people attend. Never pass up good food. Hate to disappoint, but no chimichangas @Big_Red_Fred

Make sure exhaust valve is shut and a blast of air to clean out. A 1/2" conduit ring can be used to lock down the nipple if required.

Jealous of you guys who get to play in the snow. About the only thing my WH will ever clear out in the winter is its own throat. Last winter I think it got down to a whopping 69° for about 2 days.

There is a great instructional here on restoring that dash Josh. Hopefully other C-195 pros will chime in as to this model as I know about as much about them as you! Wouldn't mind learning about them tho! I would guess the most desirable option is the 3-pt and attachments for that. Oh an FEL too!

You came to the right place. If you need to replace the drive belt be sure to get one with a fabric cover.

Fronts are firestone 16x6.5-8. I got them from Miller Tire at $70 each plus shipping. That didn't include the tubes! They look great, but I couldn't afford them for my tractor, but Emory was really wanting a set for the tractor I'm going to fix for him next spring.

I kinda promised to build Mrs. K a golf cart for her to use to ride to the pool at the campground this summer. I picked up an 875 this summer that has a good Kohler and Sundstrand which is what I need for the rear engine power train. The tin is pretty rough, but I'm just not sure I want to sacrifice it for a custom. If I build it, the Big Show may be the test run.

My son is welding it for me. I drew up all the measurements / pattern and my nephew cut the plate on his plasma table. Let's see. 1) Not yet...It's not done. 2) The tank is not plastic 3) the exhaust manifold is a magnum style manifold that comes 90*out of the head, not 45* forward as the original does. It comes nowhere close to the tank. 4) if I need a heat shield, He will weld me one up from aluminum. I already have it planned out should it be needed. Seriously

I'm betting you do not get tired of it this year Bob. I do have a feeling that your snow this year will be lake effect. Enjoy my friend...great picture. Welcome back to 4 seasons.

Yea my clown get up was years before the clown pranks started and it was still fairly acceptable to be a crazy clown When I said "freaking people out" it required nothing more then my presence - I was NOT running around jumping out at people, as it would be natural reaction to jack some Jack a$$ dressed like that & doing that too strangers . . . . . REAL BAD IDEA By the way . . . The reconstruction has begun

Well Life got a little crazy, and we spent our Turkey day in the hospital with my "selfless" mother in law who has been diagnosed with a stomach full of cancer. Amazing woman= not one complaint ever from her and she spends her life worrying about others - I'm very fortunate = How many guys can say they have an awesome mother in law !!! We are doing our turkey day today now that she is back home. I did get a spare hour yesterday to get her all pressure washed. . . . . Now time for paint prep / hood repairs / etc. etc. = need to locate some decals Hood is stripped down to bare metal and ready to be tig'ed . . . Anyone know what the dimensions of the STOCK fuel tank was that mounted under the hood with the metal straps ? Steering gears were bone dry, but in good shape (forgot pic of other gear but looks great) Drained the rear end / Plenty of gear lube, but Not sure that's been done to many times as it was some Gackey stuff - Going to flush the entire rear end with gas or diesel Then leave to dry while painting / before refilling I was able to save one of the old decals, so it will find a permanent home / wall space somewhere in the garage
