Well, it's 1:06 and everyone is busy loading up, but it has been a great show! Only our second year, but we've met so many new friends and visited with many old ones. This is truly a family event where everyone treats you and your kids right! We even got to meet Michael Martino and get a signed copy of his book. Below are a few pics I snapped today. Enjoy!

The 2017 Big Show Parade was a big hit and "Wild Bill" Pearson did an outstanding job narrating the event.

Thanks to everyone who made the show so enjoyable! We had a lot of fun like usual! Come home with a nice load. Thanks to everyone that helped me out along the way! Here's the load I came home with. A 1963 633, a 1956 RJ35, a set of HL5 lights, an original back rest, a set of old style painted hubcaps, an original oil bath air cleaner, a stop button kill witch for a '55 RJ35, a throttle handle for a '55 RJ35 a recoil, a straight from the horses mouth book, and finally a 4 wheel wagon! Thanks again to everyone!

As usual my son and I had a great time with a bunch of great people. That being said I did not get as many pictures as I would have liked to but here are the pictures that I did take.

What a great way to have Steveasaurus share the fun of the big show too! It's just not the same without him!

A sickle mower has been on my want list for a while. Our yard backs up to a waterway and field, and along the edges is too rough to mow with a regular mower so we end up with a 2 foot or so swath of weeds that grow up tall. It has always seemed like a great opportunity to use a sickle. I've come across a couple the last few years but either hesitated and missed out on them or decided I didn't want one that bad to pay what they were asking. Today I finally found one and pulled the trigger. The sickle itself is free and seems to be in pretty decent shape. The seller said he used it 20+ years ago but it has probably been unused the last 15 years or so. He also had the Charger 12 that he said his dad bought new with it, but I couldn't convince myself I needed another tractor. That, and he his asking price was pretty strong for a straight, all original, but non-running tractor. So far, the only significant issue I have found is I am missing the tensioner/idler pulley. I'm hoping I can figure something else out for that part and get this unit to work in short order.

I've been going since 2003 ( I think), only missed a couple years. This year it was a combo of my 25th wedding anniversary in June and my work travel schedule that killed the show for me. But next year I see no reason I shouldn't miss the show!! Mike.....typing this from Oahu Hawaii 🍍 !

I was sure happy with what I saw today on the 5091 on my beloved 1976 that came back to me. The drain plug wouldn't come out but I knew I wanted to pull the transmission and look inside. There's some override in 3rd gear that's going to get fixed. Once I got it off I flipped it over to drain and the oil was very black but no signs of any moisture or anything else. Good start. I dumped a quart of Motor Medic motor flush in it. For a good part of the day yesterday I would spin it on the bench to distribute it. It sat overnight and I did the same a few times this morning before draining it out and opening it up. I only see slight wear on the reverse idler and a little bit on the fork gears. I'd say definitely not a problem. About an .050 arbor shim will eliminate the input shaft play and I really don't think I'd need to do that but since I have it open I will. i did manage to get the drain plug out on the bench so I'm good there. Having bought this tractor new I know the tremendous amount of work and even abuse it has seen. At least the first 24 years of it's life. The past 17 I think it's been mainly a mower so not as rough. Now that I have it back it likely will have an easier life than what I put it through before. There are a lot of good ways to flush a transmission but I've used motor flush on several and every one has come out like this. Maybe I've been lucky in that none of them were really bad but you often don't know that until they are opened up. It costs a bit more than other stuff but I think I'm sold. What really makes me happy is knowing that all i really have to do in install a new gasket, throw it back on the tractor and add a couple quarts of juice and I'm good to go.

Show went way too fast! Sitting here waiting on the tractor raffle drawing. Won't win, but way better chances than the lottery! So many beautiful machines, wish I had time to take pictures of them all!!

I don't think anybody has ever sat there and took single pictures of the parade before. Richard, this is just outstanding what you did. It shows so many of the different models of the horses that are at the shows...along with those riding them. Very cool Mate.

it is an amazing forum. the friendships and connections we make with the common link of a tractor line that is no more. friends transport stuff, pick up stuff, volunteer to help others. All the kids riding around. on a lot of other forums, the "know it all's" rule. not RS!

Just got back home, had a great time, unfortunately didn't get a chance to meet many people as we got there late Thursday eve, and had to spend some time Friday getting some bugs worked out and get my decals on. Still have some detail work to do on it. Never touched the wheels and tires, so need to get some new tires and get the rims painted. Here are a couple pics with the main decals applied.

I've not had much spare time this week but we did get started. First fix. Front axle pivot 100 thou oversize vertically and 40 thou over horizontally. And the pivot pin very badly worn out. So new pin made and chassis mount drilled out to 1" to allow a spigot bush to be welded into place. New pin uses a roll pin through the bush to keep it in place and still uses spring clip on the front. I know it's not original but i think it should be a good permanent fix for what will be a working machine. managed to get the front beam painted yesterday but no pics yet, hopefully get the chassis done this weekend.

I almost didn't get to go but all turned out well. When I thought I wasn't going to make it @953 nut offered to deliver a tractor and pick up a tractor and other pre show purchases. I Live about 6 hours south of him and he was going to meet my son SAWMAN half way and he was going to have to travel about 5 hours to make this happen for me. When everything is left in God's hands all will turn out well. Jay

Just about have tears in my eyes ... really enjoyed last year, but just got a defibrillator installed, and DR said no driving, so here I sit!! ANOTHER example of the unbelievable Wheel Horse family, ... I found a D180 that I would like to use for the V8 project, ... AZ Tractor has it, he is bringing it to the show, and JPWH is going to haul it to his place in GA for me!! Hopefully I can get cleared to drive first of the week so I can go up and get it!! Again, fantastic people!!!

I had plans to at least attend today, but Mrs. Sailor and I just returned yesterday afternoon from a 12 day Baltic Sea cruise. My body is still complaining of the 7 hour jet lag! I am up at 3 am because it thinks that it is 10 am!!! Thankfully it was uneventful as we spent two days in St. Petersburg, Russia right after the political demonstrations, and then there was the US surveilance plane/Russian fighter encounter over the Baltic right after we had left the area. Tallin, Estonia just returned
