Some kids get it. Years ago at a Burger King my wife told the kid that she wanted the 8 piece chicken tenders. The kid replied "no you don't". My wife got a little huffy and asked "and why don't I want them?" The kid replied " why would you buy 8 chicken nuggets for $2.69 when you can get them on the value menu at 5 for $0.99? Two packs equal 10 for $1.98 versus 8 for $2.69. Same tenders" My wife grinned, thanked her, and ordered two packs at $0.99 each. That kid is probably a success somewhere.

But none of this is new. I was trying to get high school kids to be able to do this kind of stuff 40 years ago when student teaching. Some people get those; some need a bunch of experience to get there; some never do.

@DennisThornton, the embossing/engraving was done with a C.A.D. program then transferred to a C.N.C. milling machine where I used a center drill or carbide spade bit to actually do the recessed engraving, here's a picture of the D.R.O. on the mill I did for the wife and I, Jeff. @Lane Ranger that drawbar you made for the 953 looks like the old Farmall/ Allis Chalmers style from the 50s cool MOD...

About 30+ years ago my dad who is now 80 was working in a sheet metal (HACV) factory and decided to make himself a rear clevis hitch mounted scraper blade for his CC 1200 to repair our 1/4 mile long driveway after winter and rain storms, so with an old pair of cast iron plow shares he got his radius to break a piece of 12? gauge steel for the moldboard approx 6" tall by 48" long with 1/4"x2.5" flat bar for the wear edge (that was later upgraded to a car leaf spring), he also bent a piece of 3/16" into a "U" for the swivel mount to the moldboard then a 3/8"x2.25" flat bar for the lift/pull/swivel arm, finished off with the clevis to attach which he also drilled to be able to tilt for pulling side ditches, long story shortened, it worked very well for many years with my body being extra weight when necessary, after I moved out to find my own way he added brackets for extra weight, fast forward to the past few winters it sat outside the shed where he accidentally ran it over in the snow with my Kioti, so the last couple months I've been in the process of fixing it for him/myself and here's a few shots of the broken to fab to final (hopefully a bit better and easier to angle plus turn for pushing version) waiting on paint stages that I just finished up today... Father's Day, Jeff.

And online ordering also eliminates the "jerk customer factor" True story Guy comes in that I never seen before wants me to warranty a pair of wiper blades his father bought the day before. I ask or a receipt and he hands it to me. The receipt is from another store that is not owned by the owner of our store. The policy in that case is refund at our cost or replacement. The other store made the profit and our owner was not taking the loss. The blades were the "cheaper" line that we didn't stock. I explained the policy and offered to order him a pair for the next day. He called me every four letter word in the dictionary and then some. I told him to leave and he refused and went as far as saying he knew where I lived and would come by some night with a gun. I jumped over the counter and he ran like the Road Runner. Got his plate and called the police and he was charged with aggravated harassment. I loved retail!

I had Father's day last Sunday when my son came home. Today it was a Pancake Breakfast supporting a local youth baseball team at the firehouse. 50 kids and 50 sets of parents running around like crazy And I won a car wash basket at their raffle! Playing with the hound, cleaning out the truck for the trip and making my to do list before I leave. Then waiting for the big storms to hit later!

I use Rotella T-6 for motorcycles. Oil has come a long way since the bikes were manufactured, and instead of paying high prices for oil that says "motorcycle" on the label, all you need is oil that is rated for wet clutch applications, and that is oil that has a JASO rating. Right now Rural king has it for 19.99 a gallon and OReilles does price matching. There were 5 one gallon containers on the shelf, so i said I would take that. [The price sticker was 28.00 per gallon] The kid helping me was very nice and offered to get me the oil in a box.from storage He brought a box to the counter that had two 2.5 gallon jugs inside [fine with me] Those fractions just destroyed his brain, it would seem, so he asked me what the oil should cost. He had to figure what each jug should cost, given the price of 19.99 a gallon. Me: " um, i'm sorry, but you did not charge me nearly enough for this oil" [about 61.00] Him; "what do you think it should cost? Me " 5 cents less than a hundred dollars, at one penny less than twenty dollars a gallon, plus tax" So the kid brought up another kid who seemed more confident in math. He sold me the oil for 43.99 per each 2.5 gallon jug with my out the door price with taxes of $94.36. So i looked at the cashier who was nearer my age and saw all of this, and he said, "That's OK sir, you already spent enough time on this". Out the door i went. The kid is nice, personable, and I have little doubt that he is reasonably intelligent as well. My daughter is ten years his senior and she took all the tough classes including calculus in high school Yes, she has taken stats and probs in college, and still does not know how to figure how much paint she should buy to paint a room at 400 sq, ft, per gallon. My wife and I talked about this and percentage off sales at retail stores seem confusing to my daughter as well Thank goodness she still wants to help me change the oil and replace the brakes on her car. Oh, and on edit. Shell is offering a $5.00 a gallon online rebate and a rebate limit of one hundred dollars till the end of the year I think. So that is really the reason that this is such a smokin' deal. With these antique motorcycles redlining at from 7 to 10 thousand RPM's, synthetic oil is the way to go. If you want to drive the cashier nuts, lets say your bill for something costs 15.79. you give them 21.00 so you get a five back and look at their expression.

I just bought a 416-h tractor with mower deck and snow thrower for 500 bucks. I thinks it's about a 1991 with 929 hours on it, can wait to use it. Oh and I will probably be asking you all how to hook up the snow thrower this fall.

Here's a pic of the decals installed looks pretty good for 34$. I used a hair dryer to remove the old decals worked good except for one side the adhesive stayed stuck to the panel. WD-40 worked pretty good at removing it also 90% rubbing alcohol worked also. Tried sum decal adhesive remover but it took the paint off with it.

There is definitely a need for more practical math instruction in high schools. Many kids graduate with no idea how to balance a check book, figure compound interest and financing, or understand the basics of the economy. And the problems carry into adulthood. My son runs a program for the state of Indiana, out of Purdue, just to teach teachers how to teach basic economics and finances to high school students. Kids need to know practical everyday math before they get into theoretical calculus. Jim

Sold on Ebay but you need to give exact info on your model tractor to the seller and maker. Here are some more pics First version has more of a goose neck that I put on my 314. It would not clear B-80 hood with mule drive. The second version has more of a flat line design to clear the B-80 hood for opening to refilling the gas tank and allow the mower deck mule drive to lock in place. Both front attach hitches have the same up front deign with a hex bolt holding up the front in center and the U shaped plates on each side of the hitch clearing but allowing the mule drive to fully operate in place. There is nothing like operating a front hitch to haul thinks around. There were both made by Leonard Cooke of Rhode island who makes and sells them online on Ebay. He will work with you on any issue you may have with your hitch purchased based on my experience.

Thanks guys for all the nice comments. I hope Glen sees this thread and takes a few to the show. He has been trying to get these ornaments cast in bronze and then the chrome process will take. He talks about it in his vendor space. I was also thinking about having my wife, who is very artistic, to paint the horse head to look like a real horse...eyes, teeth mane, ears etc...kind of like Trigger would look. Neil, I am really liking the gold also...it is an easy decision cents, since, sents...I already have a chrome ornament on my 857.

Ah yes my days at Napa. On the other side of things, we had customers come in always trying to pull a fast one or "Walmart has it for this" We didn't do price matching. If they gave me a hard enough time I would remember it for the next time they came in. I had computer buttons on my side. You want a set of brake pads? List plus 10% was my favorite weapon!

Chain the tractor to a tree, take the seat pan off, then connect the eaton pulley to another tractors PTO from the rear with a long belt. Power the eaton with the running tractor and see if it will spin the tires . BTW, the eaton will be turning in the correct direction...do not put a twist in the belt.

EZ out should get that out. Start by filing a flat spot to get a good center punch in the center. Drill a small hole working your way up ez out size. Your favorite penetrant and/or heat may be required.

Any chance you're thinking of the "specials" built for use as tugs and utility tractors for the Indianapolis 500? Wheel Horse and their distributor in Indy, Radio Equipment Company, started a promotion in the 60s. In some years, the tractors were used in a one-lap exhibition race, driven by the race drivers. In later years, there was a "500 Special" for sale with an extra set of white stripes on the hood and special decals. It was actually a lower-cost model, assembled using parts from the outgoing model year help clear out inventory, and offered as a nicely trimmed out entry model for buyers who might have had a harder time coming up with the typical prices that Wheel Horse tractors sold for at the time. It was built to be identical to the ones used at the track, so it had some nice collectible attraction even back then. There have been various "special" designated models over the years, largely following the same formula as the "500 Specials", though without the race tie-in. They tended to pop up in years when a significant change to the sheet metal or mechanical systems for the new model year occurred. The "specials" were typically built with the prior model year's out-of-production parts to run out the inventory and, like the "500 Special", were sold at attractive prices. They usually had some sort of designation on the model number decal, but it wasn't necessarily obvious.

At least it's able to turn so try backing each one out as far as it will go, then tighten as far as it will go, back out, then tighten and repeat doing this until it comes out. Using an impact works best but they should back out and tighten up a little more each time until the rust works loose. Spray penetrating oil too.
