20 pointsBeen up meandering around the Place overnight and just thought I'd pop in and say Good Morning, it's Christmas!! Thought I might move a topic or two but everything looks to be ship shape all over town. Ya know ya gotta get up pretty early to beat T-Mo to the laundry room around here. He is on top of things like that. It's almost like I can't earn my keep! I also wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their support when I accepted the Moderator Job. You have all been very supportive and I thank you. Here's hoping 2017 will be a less stress-full year for us all. Aww shoot, would ya look at that? I posted this in the wrong section. T-Mo, where are ya Buddy?

12 pointsMerry Christmas, Jim. Since I'm off work this week, it isn't hard to beat me to the punch. I don't have to get up at Oh Dark Thirty as we used to say in the Army. As for this thread's location, it's fine with me. Let one of the other moderators move it. It's Christmas!!!!! And to all of Red Square and your families,

10 pointsMy garage is attached to the house so I built a closet for the air compressor, I added cabinets along the ceiling and a buddy made glass doors for those. I have a sink and a garden hose with a drain in the floor, it's nice to wash the cars in the winter, when I can get them in here. lol. I stuck a tv in the corner of my work bench and I wired an outlet and plumbed an air chuck under the bench. I also wired a 110 volt thermostat and a light bulb into one of the cabinets to keep things from freezing and I use a hanging furnace for heat. Please excuse the mess, it doesn't always look like this.

10 pointsMerry Christmas everyone. My wife thought she was pretty funny with my "gift" in the video below. She likes to say everyday is Christmas for me. I think she exaggerates a bit. Hope everyone enjoys the day with family. IMG_4007.MOV

7 pointsWell, here is my idea of a unitized storage in a continuous base cabinet with drawer topped off with the workbench and then a top cabinet. We utilized the wall surface covered with OSB as the back of the cabinets. Then we ran a continuous floor band that includes a l-shaped kick plate and floor band. A couple of hours with ripping osb and using nail guns and there is about eighty feet of cabinet base laid we set a single rear cleat for the rear of the base cabinet top, and then set the vertical stile of the cabinet. The drawer guides are simply a 2x6 that stands an inch proud on either side of the stile. the drawers are super heavy with dimension lumber 2x12 sides, OSB bottoms, and 3/4 facings. The whole idea is making all the cabinets the same and they set up like a picket fence. we left the top off until the drawers were complete because the anti-tipping blocks at the back of the drawers meant that the top captured the drawers in place. The top cabinets have the floor of the cabinet plus one shelf. We did nothing fancy here , but made sure that our favorite Rubbermaid Roughneck container had room to slide in the cabinet and behind the stile. These have been in use for 27 years... Sorry the top is a wreck, but am organizing sockets and what not. This shop area is elevated with a wood floor and is 28x48 and the height off the garage area so completed projects are tailgate height. Wood floors are easy to heat and the walls and ceiling are covered in OSB and as tight as a house.

6 pointsHave you tried adding a shim on the end of the lower steering shaft between the support and the cotter pin at the end of the shaft. That will pull the fan gear in tighter to the upper shaft gear and make up for wear.
