9 pointsMy leaf blower broke on me today so I went to the place I usually buy my equipment at and thought I'd share the history. The place is called Terpstras in Griffith Indiana. They are a toro dealer now, but been around since 1943. They were a wheel horse dealer since wheel horse started distribution. In the book Straight from the horses mouth, they name dealers and names of the people that competed in the 500 special race, and the owners father and this business is named in the book. Very nice people. They sold this RJ in 59 and got back on trade in in 63 and they restored it in the 90s. It's been in the same place ever since. I get all my tires for my WH's put on here, it's always nice to visit and talk about Wheel horses. The last picture is in the late 60s and the owners father had 4 wheel horses hooked together some how with rope and actually had a old horse cart behind them and used the wheel horses like real horses to pull the cart, all four at a time. Just figured I share this, pretty cool history.

8 pointshttp://conservativetribune.com/disabled-vet-tears-neighbor-did/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=PostUp&utm_campaign=ConservativeBrief&utm_content=2016-05-28 " Where do I begin? Something AMAZING happened today! As I was getting ready for my day, my husband appeared at the door with tears in his eyes holding our son. My heart sank and I thought someone we love took a trip to Heaven....He quickly assured me that no one had died, but someone had just given him a very expensive riding lawn mower! I don't know who they are, but they have been watching my 100% combat disabled husband push mow our entire yard once or twice a week, and thought this would help make more time for the important things in life!!! THANK YOU WHOEVER YOU ARE!!! You don't know how much pain this is going to save him from!!! "

7 pointsLooks like the old girl will be coming out of retirement . Had her out getting some sun today . Those AG's should aerate the lawn nicely This is how I spent my morning putting a new head gasket on the zero-turn . The moral of the story ? NEVER TRUST A TORQUE WRENCH !

5 pointsAbout the title of your post...I'm thinking you'll fit right in on this forum since it might appear to the casual observer that many of us are actually "dating" our WH's... And !!!

4 pointsWell folks after work today I went and picked up my 875 and took some more photos as promised. Sometime in it's life it had the shaker can paint job so had to clean off the Model/Serial No. tag. Even with 4 bad tires , Shade Tree Mechanic added headlights, bad seat and all not to bad a shape. Everything is there.

3 pointsWell went in to buy a filter and some washers at a local business . As I'm at parts counter , behind me my wife is talking to a salesman. Next thing I know, I hear it will be there Saturday. It's a Simplicity Courier 25HP B&S 54" cut idiot proof homeowner special. Don't even need a wrench to change oil .So will see what this thing is capable of . I'll keep you posted.

3 pointsSaw this on the wheel horse junkies page on fb and determined I needed a set... or two... or three. Any one have any info on them?
-

2 pointsI have a chance to buy a Commando 800 with a flatbed trailer for $500. My concern is the capabilities of the Commando 800. I know this was considered an "economy" Wheel Horse. I am looking to add another horse for driveway grooming. The price is right to me but I think this horse is best suited for mowing duty only. The trailer I am unsure of what kind but could it possibly be a snowmobile trailer. Other factor is that it is a 2-1/2 hour drive each way to get it.

2 pointsHi all, I'm adding some better pics of a plow I asked about earlier. Lots of help from you guys and I thank you all! This is NOS and I welcome any input on it as far as year, condition and opinion on its condition good or bad. You guys helped me out a lot on last posting and I hope new pics will help you determine year. Thank you!

2 pointsI'm with AMC . I think that looks ! Looks like they actually thought it out , even has trim !

2 pointsToday on Dr. Phil.... the men who love their tractors, and the tractors who won't date them....

2 pointsI am beginning to think the bending backwards over the idler certainly had a lot to do with it. This belt feels totally different from the others, it is more "rubbery" and certainly more pliable. After what I have been through with this deck I do have another 6 on hand.

2 pointsJournalists and luminaries once took part in a pre-Indy race of their own as they raced 33 lawn mowers around the 2.5-mile oval. Seriously, they really did... * http://www.racer.com/indycar/item/130073-indy-500-bizarre-ims-archive-photos-part-2?showall=&limitstart=1

2 pointsYour model is 1-3745, and yes...it is a 1969. It is hard to read the 4 in the 3745, but it is there. Do you have a mower deck with it?? With a mower deck in good shape and it running good...I would say worth $500. Techumseh's can be expensive to fix now since they went over seas. Other wise, it is a great horse.
-
2 pointsWOW !! That's amazing, great story thanks for sharing.

2 pointsMy father bought a Commando 800 in 1972 with a 37" SD , clevis hitch on the rear so he could use the Brinly plow and disc he bought at the same time. He plowed and disc the garden every year and mowed about 3/4 acre until his death in 1991 when it came to me. I used it until about 2009 when the motor died.(It is still sitting under tarps waiting for some TLC so it can go back to working ) . We never had a problem with it . It was a real work horse. I would buy it if I were you.
-
2 pointsNothing wrong with that horse...as far as working it. That trailer, although it may not be a Wheel Horse, is worth $500. You can pull that horse on the trailer...drop the horse and then pull the trailer with the horse. BOOM-SHA-KA-LAK-A

2 pointsA front trailer hitch made to fit in attach-a-matic (using old mule drive) ! A really neat attachment and works way better than a ball on the back of the tractor !
-
2 pointsShowing off the versatility of a Wheel Horse. I never thought of using one for a work bench!
-
2 pointsHere it is belly up, just the wheels aren't afixed to the axle.
-
1 pointMake it idiot proof, and someone will build a better idiot! Looks great but I think I'd get motion sickness on a 0 turn. Be careful around bushes and trees. Friend of mine was using his near some hedge and a lever got caught. Next thing he knew he was mowing bushes! Looks like there's room on the back for a cooler!

1 pointHello, I am new to the forum and this is what I have. A workhorse 700, all original has deck which has all original belts, need a new battery and it leaks fuel....we are wanting to sell it but have no idea what to ask for it. Any help would be apprecated. decals are original too, my uncle had it in a garage so its in good shape
-
1 pointRun, don't walk. That's a great deal. The Commando 800 is a tough little bugger just like it's bigger siblings. Here's one I restored years ago for my grandson and it's still going strong today. The rear wheels/tires are 22-7.50 12 from a 76 B-80 I converted to a C-160. Same goes for the seat set up. No problem clearing the mower deck (36" RD) KC9KAS

1 pointI would take a look at the pto clutch adjustment. The pto is right under the exhaust, so this is best to do when the engine is cool to prevent burns. There is a threaded section on the engagement rod, jut give it one turn at a time until the pto lever has a nice snap upon engagement. Have had the same issue, and it is a high pitch squeal from the clutch on the pto slipping. Gluck! (Sorry it's upside down, but u can see the adjustment if you do a handstand)

1 pointThat engine looks to be (from the air inlet housing) to be from an ESKA snow blower. that air cleaner is not designed for warm weather use...unless the PO put some type of filter element in it. Usually, there's just a metal mesh inside the air inlet housing....But I could be wrong. Just my 2 cents..
