Finished rolling my yard Saturday morning so l loaded up the B-100 and roller then headed over to my folks to roll their yard also, about 2 acres. Dad stood in the front yard and watched me pull the roller around for about 10 minutes and then told me to just leave the roller and he'd do it with his . I think he was wanting some seat time. He's 83 yrs old and I figured it would be good for him to enjoy some outdoor Wheel Horse time. I had the wheel weights on my B-100 and had already hauled it there so I just left it with him and told him to go ahead and use it. Mom told me he went out again Sunday and rolled some more using his own . So I think he enjoyed it. He had his 1975 B-80 out in the driveway so I took a couple pics of it. It's all original except a recent repaint of the hood with a Toro Red rattle can. He left a plastic tarp laying on it in the barn a couple of summers ago. It got hot and stuck to the hood. But don't tell him I told you all! He did a good job on the repaint though. I'm not sure the seat is original.

Hi All, Had this 1 apart for a while now, started it back in fall of 2014, just worked on it a little at a time, finally wanted to make sure and finish it up this year. Anyways yesterday got it put back together. Still need to add decals and paint the letters but other than that it is done. May add a set of fenders at a later time but like it without them for now. Pictures didn't turn out so good, but here are a few. Pretty happy with how this 1 came out. Thanks, Jake

I started my day by going to a auction were their was a 312-8 up for bids. I waited 2hrs waiting for the auctioneer to get to the horse and about the time he makes it down the line where the 312 was sitting he skips it and moves into the house to do the furniture so i ended up loading my wife and two littlest kids up and leaving feeling a little down. So on the way home checked the local CL and spotted this sweet thing that had just been posted and looked better and was priced right and the best part was i didn't have to fight i whole group of guys over it. will post better pics after i get it unloaded

Hey everyone, I"m back and have been strolling around here of late. Here's what' going on in my life. Tomorrow it will be four weeks back I had my stroke, I got home on Thursday a week later, I was in the hospital for 9 days. I got out that evening and I got to spend a couple days with the other half. She was put back in the hospital herself for COPD that Saturday afternoon which is horrible!!! Well it looks like Linda is not going to make it home as she has been moved to Hospice. Which to tell you the truth, It's just Not A good thing right now. So you can see life can be Good or it can just take the life right out of you!!! If your young enjoy your life. Live it to it's fullest!! If your older do the same but it might take a while to get there!!

Anybody get to play in the snow today? We got 4 to 5 inches in Stillwater,NY.I opted not to deal with it.Mother nature put it there.Mother nature can take it away.Besides.........I'd be blowing more stones and dirt than snow.Sure glad I started working on the mowing Wheel Horses last week.Haha.

Thanks Bob! Our best thoughts on your continued recovery with the back surgery. Without Red Square, this B-80 would not have been able to be repaired. (At least by me.) I know, pictures or it didn't happen.

This is the first one I built, benchtop model, then built a motor building station, all tools in tool box specific to engine rebuilding. I guess I can say I have built quite a few motors.

Went and picked up this C-120 auto that has been converted to a 8 speed. It has a bad trans. But has a good 12hp kohler and new ags all the way around and a awesome seat. So my plan is to put all this great stuff on the 312-8 and i will fix the trans on the C-120 later down the road.

I am too cheap to buy new Throttle cables...That rarely seem to work. One equals fast idle 2 Full throttle. They come in various thicknesses if you want to have different speeds. also use them on the hand throttle of my M37

Hello folks. Longtime lurker but finally get to make my first post. After quite awhile of looking around I found the perfect tractor and deal on my local Craigslist last week. It was a 312-H in good shape that was being sold by the original owner. When I showed up to check it out I was ecstatic and bought it on the spot. This tractor only has 600 hours on it and came with a plow (only used a handful of times), 37" mower deck, wheel weights, chains, and bagger. Also had several spare belts, blades and all the original manuals/paperwork. Ran the serial numbers and its a 1990. I got it home, gave it a good once over and shined it up. The tractor cuts great and runs like a dream. My dad owns a 315-8 so its cool to have close to matching tractors, and I love the sound of that Kohler stroke. Anywho, outside of adjusting the mower the only thing I've found that needs some TLC is the parking brake. It currently does not engage and at the recommendation of some people from the Wheel Horse Junkies FB group I had the rear left off and found the adjustment bolt. Only problem is the bolt was just sitting there loose with nothing to screw it into. It would appear the assembly the adjustment bolt goes into is sheared off. Is there a good exploded parts view of a 300 series so I can figure out what I need? I was looking around on here but couldn't find one. Thanks!

After an initial failed attempt to mate the case halves together a year and a half ago... (These horses are patient if the owner gets frustrated and walks away) The B-80 is back together and motoring around. I had completely forgotten what a pleasing sound those old cast iron Kohler engines sing. As mentioned, the original owner was a retired Air Force A&P. He did a nice job on the engine rebuild. He was Korean War era. Interesting stories about bore sighting an F-86 Sabre in Korea when I was purchasing the B-80. The best news... the wife called the Wheelhorse "cute" during my initial runs. I won't tell her they can multiply like rabbits.

The before picture. Wasn't rusty, but pretty well beat up, all the sheet metal was really rough and engine was really tired and trans needed rebuilt.

Well, it's official-I'm sick in the head! I've been working on the GT14 I bought from limited12. I had to put a head gasket on it and a rectifier. Well I couldn't leave well enough alone and decided to freshen up the engine and surrounding areas. I'll get to re painting the outter panels later on. I'm pretty pleased with the way it's looking - just hope she starts as good as she did before I started this project! Last pic is of her when I got her.

So... this morning my son Brennan who just turned 8 decided he would like to put the wide ag tires on his rat rod. He had a wide set of turfs on it prior. He got up at the crack of dawn and went down in the tent in the back woods and rolled both tires up the hill to the garage. He washed them with white degreaser and steel wool so they would be ready for painting after school. He dragged me out there to help too. Got the tires on and painted. the seat is no what we really wanted so I took the cover off and adhered some leather that I had at the house that I got from a little birdie.... Changed the oil for the very first time (in a long time) and she is ready for him to ride at Zagary. Here are a few pics.

Recently got an Electro 12. The hydro filter was red and had wheel horse on it. Wonder how long it has been on there. Actually the ATF didn't look bad at all nor smell burned.

Anyone use PB Blaster Small Engine Tune Up?

BMW, It looks like what you have is an 18 Automatic that has been modified or retro-fitted with an electric clutch. The switch on the lower dash plate is normally for the headlights/taillights. Not sure why there is a resister network of just over 2 Ohms that would require handling up to 60 watts of power. You may be able to temporarily disconnect the electric clutch circuit and test it with an Ohm meter for continuity. Worst case senario maybe you could source some good used parts needed to replace the existing clutch with a mechanical one. The belt for the mechanical clutch should be part # 103084 this powers the P.T.O. shaft. If I am not mistaken there should be two belts for mowing: one mower drive belt for power and the blades belt, under the cover.

the later decks had a flat plate brace running between both set of holes across the deck underneath.but I've seen them still crack. my brother showed me the stop drill method years ago when he repaired one of my first decks. I've stopped drilled cracks with out welding since i don't own a welder. eric j

Yup, it has to slide left to get the pulley to line up. I had to raise it an inch to get the belt to run correctly in the belt guard. K321 has a crank centerline about 6.5" above the frame and the predator is about 5.5". I wonder now that you mention it, if I could make a relocation bracket that would slide the tank right and still keep it engine mounted? But that leaves me with the air cleaner. When you pull off the plastic cover, there is a paper canister filter with a foam prefilter, so I'm hesitant to leave the cover off. I know the go cart guys use a different filter on the 6.5hp version. Wonder if there is a different filter for the 13? I'd prefer not to cut the hood unless I have to just in case I want to put a Kohler back.

I use Sea Foam in all my engines and they run a lot better.

So here we are for round 2. I didn't like the way the frame looked. It had some rust, it sat crooked, at least to my eyes and just too many dang holes. So out came the plasma cutter, cut off wheel and welder and I made a new frame. Should have done this to begin with. Now she sits straight. Also had some new meats to put on the back but didn't have any 15" tractor wheels. Well I made me some. Took a set of 12" tractor wheels and cut out the centers. I welded them to some d-160 15" centers and then welded them into some 15x10 6 lug white spokes(after I cut the centers out of those). Now I have some tractor wheels for my other tires left over from a mud golf cart project that ended. I have everything cut off the old frame and cleaned up, ready to put on the new frame. I think those tires might be too tall...........maybe not.

Well, I played mounting the 13. If the pulley would have lined up, it would fit nicely between the hood braces. Buttt...I'm going to have to raise it 1" and scoot it to the left about 1 1/2". Now, do I want to modify the brace and trim the hood, or do I want to raise the grille and dash about 2"? Also, I've got an adapter sleeve for the crank - just haven't put it in yet.

I haven't had much time to work on it. On Saturday I pulled the engine out of the tractor and removed the pan. I know we like pics so here's the damage! The bore doesn't look bad but may be out of round. Notice damage to piston skirt also. Cam appears ok. One gear damaged.

Got the 857 out today and kids did most the driving with messy faces but they loved it! And I didn't have to ask them to smile that just came from driving the horse!

Rather then mess around with cloths pins/vice grips (sorry guys) on my 867, I replaced my PITA push/pull throttle control with a lever style. Much better RPM control and it stays where I set it. A push/pull knob is fine for a choke, but not very good for a throttle.

A great find, and with the hydro to boot. Fun to see the old brochures, and all of the various attachments, including the thermo sprayer and air compressor (items that are not seen very often).

Nice tractor! psep.biz has replacement locking cables that work good. I have one on my 1076 that I'm happy with. Part # ROT 9135. If you can't find a fan shroud I could send you the dimensions of mine. It would be easy to make out of some perforated metal. Your running boards look like they came off of a newer model short frame wheel horse.

As it turns out, the wanted ad I placed on Thursday paid off. My wife and I made the drive to meet a great guy and RS member today, who had a hood that he offered for sale. We agreed on a time to meet and a price and away we went. Hood is in really good shape, all I need to do is sandblast and work out a few small dents. Cannot wait to get a fresh coat of paint and some decals on it! Great sunday, got to meet a great guy and talk tractors. Anyway, heres a pic of the "new" hood on the mutt!

Ha Ha. Not too fast. Makes it easy to move around for mowing grass. That poor thing is going to fall apart soon it is so rotten. Makes a good bench for painting and working on, no good for eating at any more. We have a nice table and chairs on the new deck now for that.

So we finally got this finished up. Think it came out great for him. It is not anything close to perfect however my son is proud of it! He will be riding it at the big show

Finally got the steering pivot out of the frame. Pin was seized into place with nothing else holding it and it stuck out the bottom. Freed up pin, drilled hole for a cotter key to hold it up. Cut it to length then drilled and tapped a 3/8 hole in the bottom for a puller if ever needed. Pivot itself will go into work for bead blasting and paint.

Thanks guys. Emory came down last night and looked at it as I was putting the head back on and his comment was "That looks awesome!" Doesn't take much to make him happy, but that meant the world to me. Amazing what the love of a child does for your heart! I'll try to get another better pic when I can pull it outside later this week. I wish I had the whole thing looking like the motor, but I have to do things a little at a time. I'd like to have it finished in time for the big show

As should have been expected, local machine shops wanted far more to make one cut than the transmission is worth. That is, if they would touch it at all. The question is back to scrap or save. My initial guess of how much of the boss had been worn away was off by a lot. It is .122 low on the worn side. This goes from shims to thrust bearing territory. An eighth inch thick, 1.5 inch o.d. thrust bearing is a substantial chunk of metal. It will "hide" a lot of imperfections from the rotating input gear if the boss is "machined" by hand rather than the correct way. Knowing the conditions the transmission operated under for a long time makes this an easy decision. Save it!
