After having owned many cub cadets over the years. I am now hooked on the Horse. I purchased a rearend and most of the parts for a C-160 two weeks ago and was so impressed with how easy they are to work on. I have since acquired a B-100 one owner and a 520Lxi. The New collection is underway!

Welcome to the home of WHA (Wheel Horse Addiction) Horse owners/collectors/dreamers. You'll start every day with a bucket of oats, Craigs List, eBay, then check in here. Plenty of good company to discuss your ailment here in the Worldwide Red Square forums. Should questions need quick answers check with the stable janitor, Geno.

To follow up my plough conversion, here's the lift assembly needed. Firstly the beefy bar to run from the deck lift arm. Then two bushes for the rocker shaft Then a piece of 18mm bar for the shaft with the ends threaded to retain it. It all fits nicely with the fuel tank in place. And the view from above with the link bar in place. And with the plough fitted.

The Wheel Horse Collector’s Club had its first meeting June 5th, 1999. At first Don, Cindy, and Jeff Kane intended this small group to meet at their home but the meeting was moved to South Mountain Fair grounds, Arendtsville, PA, when the anticipated group size increased. What started out as Don and Jeff Kane’s father-son hobby soon turned into an effort to start a Wheel Horse garden tractor restorers’ club. This gathering was the first in the country exclusively for Wheel Horse products. A total of sixty Wheel Horses were present and about forty-nine people including wives and children. People from Florida, Connecticut, Alabama, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Indiana attended. The Toro Corporation supported the event in several ways including supplying door prizes. Ed Cole of Toro Corporation, brought a number of Wheel Horse branded items and everyone who attended to the end got something. During later shows, these items went into the raffle. Ed said, "I think a hat was passed around to help the Kane's with all the expenses they had, as they bought everything out of their pocket. I went back and got a check from Toro to cover the expense. This continued for several years until the club became self-sustaining. Toro also helped in later years by covering all/half the cost of hats sold at the show." Forty-nine of Ed Cole's photos of the meeting are at:

Wow I didn't mean to start a war here. What most of you guys who don't live right around here know, we kind of have a running joke between all of us about trading upgrading etc. I was just ribbin' Ken not calling him out as a "flipper". Heck I've had over 60 Wheel Horse tractors in the last 7 or 8 years and they're all gone but 4. I never got rid of them to make a profit just upgrading when I would find one better. Most of them I sold for what I paid for them or less. I even took a $500 loss when I sold my Senior. So I will publicly apologize to Ken for inadvertintly starting this argument. It was not my intention for this to happen. I consider Ken a great friend. What ever anyone wants to do with their own tractors is their business. Chalk this one up to lessons learned

Wait...every Wheel Horse but two that I own came from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Does that make me a horse thief, or a horse rescuer?

Well I decided to set one of the 702 tractors I have for plow duty. Yesterday brought a few inches of snow with rain that followed. This is the type of slush that my 2 stage blower will not move. I am pretty much ready to go...

Wheel horse ploughs are hard to come by in the UK, so we thought we'd make something else fit. My son bought a plough cheap at a show, finally got round to modifying it to clevis mount. Firstly making the mount from a few chunky bits of metal from Doug And then making the handle Actually set it at the side of my mahoooosive wheel horse 12" plough... Other than size the geometry is about the same It fits perfectly, just needs a rock shaft and lift mechanism.... Cue big piece of flat bar, made to fit around the bits in a C121 And a new homemade rock shaft and bushes Works perfectly Ewan will be pleased

And to FURTHER expand on this topic because a few of you seem to be clueless as to what is really going on and you seem so concerned.... I was surprised to learn about the 877 on C/L and I learned that information thru Craig's post right here. I did PM him and tell him about the trade with my brother to try to avoid this circus act and yet the circus show followed. So, yes Geno this circus act is on Craig. 95% of my trades are with my own brother Jimmyz and some members that I consider friends.. Having three work tractor's of which in reality I only need one I traded a nice 417 with Craig for the 877.( I thought Craig was happy? I mean, I didn't hold a gun to his head or nothing! Did I bust Craig's balls when I sold him a pair of mint ag tires at the big show and not ten minutes later he sold them for 100? Nope. I thought he needed them, I guess not .) Now where was I? Oh yeah,, I was down to having two workers left. A few weeks later the chance to own a 420 comes along, the catch, it'll cost me via trade my remaining workers. a MINT low hr 417 and a wicked nice 520 that I just finished refurbing. I didn't think twice. Deal done. (Somewhere out there two guys are enjoying two perfect and beautiful tractors that I set loose and I bet neither one of them guys is cryin or complaining.) Now the reality sets in, ut oh, I ain't gonna work this 420 or cut grass with it and I have nothing else. Christmas day, my brother approaches me and tells me he'll trade his 314H for the 877. Deal done. I wasn't planning to off load the 877 but this is the way it happened. Crucify me. Burn me at the stake. I'm not the one selling the 877, my brother is.. I'm happy with my trades, nothing leaves my garage unless it is 100% of what I say it is and everyone is happy happy happy. Geno, quit being a hoarder, know one likes a hoarder, You might consider selling a tractor or whatever attachment it is that your little buddy Kyblue keeps whinin about that he wants.. I mean c'mon, rumor has it that if a guy needs to purchase a snow blade to clear his drive to get to work to put food on the table he can't find one within a 2 hr. drive because you hoarded all of them! What are you up to now, 999 snow blades? That is just weird... Lets be honest Ky, that is just swell that you have kept every Wheel Horse tractor or part that has ever come your way. The fact of the matter is that if everyone was like you this hobby would be lame and not very exciting, So, because you have been such a good little boy with perfect behavior which do you prefer, a medal or a cookie? At the end of the day I don't mind gettin my balls busted so long as the facts are straight. Watch out though because I love to bust balls myself and I NEVER forget. Have fun guys..

Here are some more pictures of the progress I made in the last couple days. I just dry-fitted the sheet metal bits on there just to get a feel for the one-inch lift I did on the fenders because I wasn't so sure how well the rear tires would clear. I'm going to be applying some grip tape on the foot rests but I'm not sure if I should do only the bottom section or continue it all the way up to the back of the footrest, by the front of the rear fender. Also, I'm tossing around the idea of painting the 'superstructure', or gauge tower black to match the paint scheme of the 3,4,5-hundred series. Any thoughts?

Really? Good Lord, I told you before I could care less what you sell, or keep. You're right, if everybody kept things the way I do, then flippers, Traders, and the what not would have a hard time doing what they do. As to Geno ... You're jealousy is showing, you really might want to get that in check. I tease Geno on the board for some of the attachments and such he gets ...and yeah I would like to have some of them. I dont have the money that You, and He, and others do on this board to devote to this hobby. I get done what I can, when I can, and sometimes, through the help of friends like Geno, and some others...

I'm cheap.. haha That one cabinet cost me less than 20.00 to build, and as you said, it's better than the junk you buy at the box stores that paste board and stables... I think I will install the door, again, I'm cheap. Haha with the delivery charge and everything I think it was close to 500 dollars ... yeah I can put in a door for that. I have to frame it in anyway so ... Thanks for the vote(s) of confidence.

Don't know what HD is charging to install the garage door, but if you can do the work shown here I know you can put in a garage door. Our Clopay door took about two hours to install and another couple for the opener. Over the past few years I have done quite a few with my wife as a helper (moved quite a bit and built a shop each time). With the glass windows you will need a husky helper, they are heavy! You are smart to build your own cabinets, plywood and screws is always better than particle board and staples. I just finished putting together a bunch of IKEA junk at our church, they look good but I doubt that they will hold up very long. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Steve for offering to locate a wrap around handle to me. Fortunatly all the trees the 7910 will be sawing on for several years have already been cut down. I will be in the middle of 40 acres sawing whats left of a clear cutting operation into firewood length stock to burn in my woodstove, and my daughters woodstove. I'll sell some firewood if the market is good for next Winter. Mostly what I am doing now is stacking up all the long tree trunks, tree tops, and big limbs left behind by the loggers. I'm using a skid steer with a 4in1 bucket for that task. I have a big area set aside for staging, so once the pile of logs is big enough the next thing is to just stand there, saw everything up into firewood length (with the 7910), and then split it all with the splitter. After that its loaded into a dumptruck and taken to a barn where it will be stacked to dry for next Winter. Its alot of work for sure, but its alot of warmth for me and my daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandkids. BTW, here is a pic of my Dolmar Dealer. His name is Mr. Charlie Brooks. He is one the finest men I have ever met! Charlie is also in the process of bringing back to life my Grandfathers 1960 Clinton D50 chanisaw. That one was built back when men were men and Clinton chainsaws weighed 40 pounds dry! I'll post some pics of the D50 after its running and painted.

Don't you dare blame Craig for this. I saw that tractor on CL a full day BEFORE this all started. Matter of fact your "keeper" was posted on CL 2 days ago and is still on there now. I look around everywhere for herds, just in case no one has noticed all the traveling I do...

After a large handful of screws... we have something that resembles a cabinet - How I mount my cabinets, they aren't actually screwed to the wall, this one is just hanging there, temporarily while I work on the face frame
  34. 2 points
actually the 2 stage you don't have to load up like a single stage blower. my experience with my 2 stage blower it will blow as little as 2 or 3 inches, but it gets to point where it might be just as easy to plow it off. eric j

Yeah, Geno! That is too nice to sit in a garage. It would be happier here in the U.P., where every year the eastern half of Lake Superior turns to snow and gets dumped on my drive!

Over 4 feet of snow so far this year, 4-8" overnight tonight. -20 overnight predicted for Monday night, with a forecast HIGH of -7 Wednesday. You guys are killing me with stories of 60 and rain!

You'll be impressed. I also have bought only Stihl products (my first saw was a McCulloch back in 1978) for the last five years but I bought a PS-5105 last year. Once it is out of warranty I have a non-cat muffler to put on it which should make it even better. Van, you need to get the West Coast handle, heavy-duty air filter, and some serious Bucking Spikes too! That is a beauty.
