Had been wanting to make one of these for a while now , so...after an hour or so in the barn with the grinder and the welder and this is what I came up with. I believe this will work for what I need to use it for. "HOME MADE" LOL

Kohler K141 (6.25 HP), K161 (7 HP), K181 (8 HP) NGK B6S Champion J8C Autolite 458 would be the right plugs.. Autolite 216 is for k241-k301-k321-k341 that is after the list i have of sparkplugs..

So I don't hijack Shynon's thread, started this one with pics of my new to me toy... New here, just picked up what I think is a Lawn Ranger with no deck for my youngest son to tinker with and ride around the neighborhood, he loves just about any lawn/garden tractor, this is his first WH. Numbers on the plate near the steering frame are L2631, 411520. Not sure but I think it is a Tec engine, haven't really got into it yet, just took it off the truck a few hours ago. Any pointers as to where to start would be appreciated.

I planted a large garden this year but the heat and drought pretty much wiped it out I got quite a bit out of it but not enough to do any canning I heard of a produce auction that is every Monday Wednesday and Friday from May through October I finally went to it this week Monday and Wednesday I was able to purchase 250 pounds of tomatoes for under $30 these are locally grown and the farmers bring them to the auction to sell them and they are very nice size and flavor. Now I am busy canning salsa, pasta sauce, tomato juice and tomato soup. After going there I am trying to decide if I should even take the time to put in a garden next year since they sell every kind of vegetable you could think of the only problem is you usually need to purchase them in lots like when I got my first batch of tomatoes I had to purchase 7 boxes at 25 pounds per box I paid $3 per box, pumpkins were selling for 50 to 75 cents each, squash was selling at $50-$75 for a tote of 400 the prices were great but what would I do with 400 squash.

After a lenghty road trip I picked up another lawn ranger today serial #62-20863 with a H60 75008 motor recoil start also has the two piece tank. Not sure of the year as my other on is a 62 with an HT55c on it and a two piece tank. Did early 62's come with Ht55's then use an H60 on later 62 models? Will need a carb,air cleaner,drive pulley and steering wheel. Also picked up an 856,dozer blade and misc. parts. Now I have 4 horses to restore probably need to stop looking. Not sure how that works (stop looking). HELP!!!! Tom

Matt approx 621 Degrees. Aluminum Melts at about 1220 Degrees making an Aluminum Pot a perfect choice to melt Lead in, plus Aluminum Conducts heat well and cools fast in order to remove the lead when your finished melting. :handgestures-thumbupright:

I'm new to Wheel Horse. Got bit when I bought a lake cabin and a C160 was in the shed. Now I spend a lot of my time surfing for attachments and reading about these wonderful machines. During my search, I ran across an battery powered C-145. Ad says it takes 6 six volt bateries to run it. Did Wheel Horse make an electric rider or is is a modification? Is worth looking at?

Thats pretty cool Duke! I've never seen a steel bolt float on any kind of liquid before! How hot does lead have to be to melt? Very creative, and inexpensive way of making wheel weights! Matt :flags-texas:

I've always believed that the secret to finding things you want, is to not be looking for what you want. I've wanted a small to mid size garden tractor for quite awhile. I'd given up looking for one. I did not need another horse but could not pass up this deal. Paid $550 for this 1991 416H with 42 inch snow blower, ATV tires, cleat chains (removed), FMC cast iron wheel weights, solid with no dents 48 inch SD mower deck (not shown), and plow hitch on back axle. The twin ONAN has 705 hours and starts and runs perfect. I normally use an Ariens 1032 walk behind but will try this if we get snow this year.

I should be picking squash by the end of the week...And I now have bees in my garden, so happy that they finally arrived. Better late than never....

This evenings progress. The parking brake lever no longer has a divot in it (yes, I already know about Fram filters. The replacement Wix is on the bench): The battery box has a back strap again: I decided to go ahead and make some working room by getting tin and wheels out of the way: I'm not sure what's up with the spindle on the right. It's got a center bolt like a JD. Both spindles had been run on bad bearings. Deep grooves in both. At first I thought there was quite a bit of play in the differential...it turns out the right axle keyway is wallowed and the key was nearly sheared. Both hubs have a pretty wallowed keyway. Not sure what I'm going to do about that yet: And finally, I've got an axle seal to replace:
