Like the rest of you guys, most of my toys, projects, and restorations are way to big to be brought into the house, and unfortunately for me, my shop is a couple miles away from my house. All I have at my house is a carport, so although I may bring some of my toys home occasionally, I don't keep them here very long because they're not well protected. I recentley started restoring antique Briggs engines, and have really enjoyed doing it. Then it hit me, these are small enough to bring in the house, so I imediately informed my wife I was going to put my engines on display in the house. Her initial reaction was followed by , but once she calmed down, she finally agreed that I had at least some say in how the house was decorated, even if it was a very small say. So here is the vue right next to the computer desk, as she would not let me put them in the living room! So my question is, what kind of toys do you have in your house? By the way, my wife says they are stinking up the house, even though I did drain all the gas out of them. I personally like the smell, smells like my shop! Matt

Nice style. I am hoping to purchase a Beaver tractor. Take off the tires and slip it into the back of my Toyota Matrix. I am hoping it will work. Attached is the first RJ I purchased. It wouldn't fit into my car! There are always options.

So a while back I was looking for some tractor parts and stumbled across a guy that had a bunch of old mowers. Well in the way back he had a little riding mower from the 60s. Not sure why it caught my eye but I just thought it was too cool. He said it wasn't his so he couldn't sell it. Well After a few parts purchases since then he finally said he'd sell it to me. Today I went over with $40 in hand and picked it up. Folded down the seats in my car and it fit quite nicely! Definitely been sitting for a while but the engine, trans, and axle are free and moving. Tires appear to be original, unfortunately the front rib tires are nearly shot. My plan is to just get it running for now and driving then do something with it later. Not sure if I want to restore it to stock appearance and color or have some fun. I'd like to put a set of small AG tires on the back and tri ribs on the front. Guess we'll see what happens!

I have been fighting loose hubs for 5 years or so. Noticed the right hub had slipped in about an 1", jacked up the tractor to tighten it. Checked the left side grabbed the wheel and it rocked back on the axle. I have some 2" steel I got years ago to make a couple of trailer spindles that never got made. So we bored out the hubs and press fitted sleeves and keyed them. Don't have a picture of boring the hubs. Here is a picture of turning and boring the sleeve. We left the sleeves longer than the hubs by 3/8" that was turned down, this part to extend the hub. We left 2 1/2 thousands press on the sleeves. Then they were pressed in they pulled off some metal and lacked 1/16" going flush with the out side hub. I installed the hubs with new keys and set screws and repainted the hubs with Regal Red Rustoleum. It was raining and I didn't want to wait a week for the paint to dry. I have an old 250 watt infrared heat lamp that still worked so I set it up around 2 feet from the hub and it was dry in 45 minutes. Works great on small parts I guess if you had 3 or 4 of them you could dry a hood. It didn't get too hot to hold but it got real warm. I cut some disk out of PVC siding and pressed in the 1/16" off set before drying the paint hope they will stay in. If not I'll make some more and glue them in. The paint drying work so good I used it when I made a new bracket for the vacuum to fit in the receiver hitch. I didn't have any more 2" tubing so I bolted it on trailer hitch.

Yes we bored the sleeve and turned the OD before removing it from the lathe. Then we sawed it off turn it around and faced the back side. The first sleeve ID was bored a little over size I believe about 2 thousands it worked great. The other was dead on and we had to hone it the get the broach guide in after it was pressed in the hub. We ran the hone through both but the smaller one took a lot more honing to get the guide in. We didn't have a 1 1/8" reamer so we had to go the the bore. We pressed the first sleeve with the sharp edge. The second we chamfered the leading edge and it went better.

I have 1/64th scale farm equipment. 1/25th scale semi trucks. 1/25th scale motorcycles, and several 1/25th scale plastic model semi tractors(I used to be in alot of plastic model competitions so they are all customized). All of which are packed away until the Pat Cave is done in the basement. At which time all app. 250 items will be displayed. If I were to try to bring some sort of gasoline powered thing in the house? The "boss" would help me and my "treasures" as she calls them, out the door on a one way trip flying on right foot airlines. If you get my drift.

Great story. I definitely would have stuck around to sample the end product. I think I was busy that day battling yet another issue. "Who put peanut butter on a balloon and Where's that water dripping from........."?

SOI, you are The Man! Once again you made somethng simple that at first look seems complicated. SOI, hopefully you will enjoy this little story; I had to perform an emergency service to a "CUPPONE" commercial pizza with oven (with touch controls) last friday night. I did get it back online after a couple of hours, (never worked on a Cuppone before), but I can remember thinking to myself as I removed the 42" x 54" electrical access cover "Where is SOI when I need him?" :confusion-helpsos:

Up til now this has been enjoyable to follow....First they take away our moscot/symbol-Then they stick us with coach that shoots Blanks-then they give us a QB that is even a bigger WUSS than Deynard.....then they kick us while we are down. "If you can't throw a BIG punch eye to eye-just wait til they are down". Somebody said that. I can't remember who- Pot shot-ers don't last long- but they squeal like heck on the bottom of the pile! The Illini are down, but not out-they will be back.- Respectfully-Al

As soon as I remove the spray rig from inside the trailer I plan on replacing the plywood on the floor. Its just bolted in place so I will remove it and measure for a new piece. The side panels don't have anything on them at all and are perfect. I stopped at an RV dealer today and picked up the new roof vent and the special roof caulk. Got home and scrapped/chipped all the old dried acrylic sealant off. Wiped it all down with mineral spirits to remove any grease or grime and re-caulked all the roof joints. Then installed the new roof vent and caulked that also. Now she should be all water/weather tight. I checked the oil in the engine and fired up the pump to see if it ran. It started on the second pull. The tank still had some chemical in it so I sprayed it in the woods and it works great. I will remove it this weekend and power wash it and get it all looking good. Then I plan on taking some nice pictures and posting it on Craig's List and posting some ads at some of the local landscaping places. Hopefully I can flip this thing by next weekend.

I agree with Jason. RJs are rare in any condition down here, and this one is a home run in the "get back to original" department- as long as the price is reasonable. K91 engines are not hard to come by, even in NC. I have several of them myself, and I live 15 miles from Midland. PM me if you get it, and we can work something out on one.

Let me just say I'm not scared I have a D250 and I use it. I use it for all of my heavy work tilling moving stone dragging anything heavy I use it for cutting grass on occasion, The occasion usually working on my other tractor. It mows great but the tranz makes less mobile. I cut with the C195 the 60" deck and hydro makes it great for mowing. The only thing I would say against the D250 for logging would be ground clearance, it's plenty strong and with the locking axle it will go and pull but low ground clearance in the woods would concern me. Why have it if you can't use it? :banana-dreads:
