4 pointsJust picked these up today. furthest away is a 1957 rj35, Middle is a 1956 rj35, and last is a 1955 rj35.
-
4 pointsI picked these up yesterday they are both 753 models one of them has the HY3 hydraulic lift and also has a set of HL5 lights that I will pick up as soon as the previous owner has time to look for them harvest is in full swing around here and he barely had time to get the tractor dug out for me. Here are some pictures I have not taken the time to clean them up yet so they are both barn fresh and very dirty.

4 pointsOf course it's only my opinion, but none of these older tractors are common anymore. As far as how many of them were produced..... I believe the records for that generation of tractors have been lost, so we'll never know. I will tell you that the three models (867 / 1067 / 1267) were introduced later than the other 1967 models because the 5060 six speed wasn't quite ready for production. Because of that, some consumers may have waited to see how it worked out - and by that time, the Raider model was introduced. The 867 seems to be more popular among collectors since it is the only production small-block / short-frame tractor with the six speed. As more people congregate on the internet, some models which were thought to be scarce seem to be abundant. Ironically, I just fetched another one for myself last night. It might be ugly (in the eyes of some) but it runs and drives - and it was relatively cheap. I'm not exactly sure which one of the two it is yet since ALL of the ID tags are gone, but I'll figure it out eventually. The long frame / stirrup footrests / narrow fender / big-block / gear drive Wheel Horses are definitely my all-time favorite. The less other people show interest in them, the better it makes it for me.

3 pointsWell since the show is just around the corner we figured we better get some stuff taken care of that has been neglected for quite some time. The first order of business was to finally hang the sign that we picked up last December..........embarrassing I know. Ordered some new letters, rewired it and up she went. We are pretty happy with how it turned out once it was all lit up........ The next item on the agenda was the beautiful neon sign that a good friend (Jeremy H.) hooked us up with. Mom and I bought this sign and presented it to dad for his birthday here recently. Before anything got damaged we wanted to make sure it was secured to the wall in a nice safe place. The neon looks great on it but is kind of blurry from a crappy cell phone. If interested in one of these check with Jeremy at the show next weekend and he can get you fixed up. They are definitely worth the money and well constructed. Here it is...........

2 pointsI love my 1267, it gets so much use around here that I havent really had time to give it the love it deserves. Mainly its the little odd jobs, towing a cart, grading the driveway etc, but I have mowed with it a few times (with a modern 42" deck) and this year fitted a tiller to it. Nice and simple to work on, a ton of power, and the styling that to me is what a Wheel Horse should look like.
-
2 pointsJust redone. Not for grass cutting anymore, took the mower off an stacked it with the WH deck an frt blade. Anymore I just take my tractors to shows. My little trailer is only 6 1/2 x 12 an will hold 4 tractors without decks. So I have room for my Simplicity when I get it, an the trl will be full. Sulky, tent an other stuff goes in trk bed, I'm full....hahahaha 1994 148,000 mile 4 cyl ranger to pull it with, so I am at the top end of trailer size for that engine an these Ozark hills. Here we are at the Ottawa Kans. Show My paint on my C101 is all the same color, even though the back looks different, paint came from the same can an all painted at the same time. Its either my camera (real old) or the way the sun was hitting it.

1 pointI know I haven't been posting anything new lately, but thats mostly because I haven't gotten another yet, so I haven't really had much to post up. Well, that being said I have been working on a bunch of old vintage Briggs engines, and although they have nothing to do with our horses, I have enjoyed restoring them. I've already finised two, and I'm currently working on my 3rd, and I decided to post it here whether you like it or not. I've curently finished a 1953 NP, and a 47 NP Briggs, but the one I'm working on now is a 44 Model N. Here are some pics of it when I first got it. You'll notice it had a broken cooling fin on the block, but I knew that in advance, and found an exact replacement. Matt

1 pointI just found a Rj25 I believe. All I have right now is the hood but got to go back and dig out the rest of the tractor.
-
1 pointAwesome classic small engines, and excellent work. Those are some of the best pictures I have seen of the inner workings of those Briggs engines Newer aluminum engines just can't take the place of a good 'ole lump of American cast iron! -Mark-
-
1 pointmatt, looking good.... i like the detail. its also refreshing to look at some different engine internals for a change...... what were these engines used on earlier in their life?

1 pointNot as bad as a person might think. I had to re-do quite a bit of it myself. The guy I bought it from had to get rid of it to pay some bills, an he had rinky dinked a few things. Got'em fixed an the ol kohler purrs like a kitten now. Got the variator fixed like its suppose to be also. Just a whole lot of little things needed attention. But all in all, after it was said an done I'm happy with where I am $ wise in it. I had a few chances at Ottawa to get my $ plus a hundred or two profit if I wanted. I really got the most looks from the the little womans 1981 A-81 RER with the sulky an cooler behind it, then the Deere, an only 1 guy was interested in talking/looking at my first, pride an joy, my C-101, couldn't believe it.

1 pointMartin, There has been a big mix up on this carb. kit. It has been bothering me and that is why I started this Advent because when I received this kit I found I was short some parts and had other parts I didn't need. I called in an order to NAPA the first of the week including a K-181 carb kit. I was sent a#7-030004 in the Kohler package. I had cleaned the carb. put the bowl gasket in along with the large needle valve and matching seat, no baffle gasket,I had to supply my own O-ring for the fuel inlet. So I got to checking in the out door catalog and called Napa this afternoon and gave them the numbers to which they said"We gave you the wrong kit but bring it back and we will exchange it for you" Well that's not going to happen because I have used about two thirds of it. Any way, sorry for the confusion. In the old days when you bought a carburetor repair kit you got everything. Again I was just ranting. Sorry, Regards, Jim

1 pointYou were in it until the end. Even had a second chance at the end. Whatever you do, don't get rid of Dawson.

1 pointhave made some progress on the 606. slowly fixing up the engine so it will run and today worked on the steering shaft so that the locking collar and steering wheel would fit on. Had to cut the old steering shaft out last spring so I could remove the steering wheel from it using a press. Here's a couple pics of the 606 while we were working on it.

1 pointHey Guys: Now that I'm a semi high tech Redneck (and have figured out how to post pics), here are some pics of my 312-8 I bought new in April 1991. Not the greatest pics, and cell camera lens probly could use some Windex. Quality should get better as I get more practice. The 312 is better looking in real life than in these pics, and I'll post some sharper ones later. Next I will send some pics of the 417-A. Also will post some pics of JD 140 H3 and IH Cub Cadet 1650 in "Other" section of RS. Enjoy! Van
